Biography

Born in Ontario, Canada, I grew up in southern California with my parents and my seven brothers and sisters. My father found that building houses for a living was much easier in the beautiful California climate.

I inherited my mother’s love of art and my father’s ability for sustained concentration (my mother is a watercolorist and my father, a builder of ship models, several hundred to date).

I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in drawing and painting from the University of Long Beach while raising my two daughters. I then pursued commercial illustration work for a number of years while exhibiting my drawings and paintings in several southern California galleries.

After many years of working for local government in the technology field I am now writing children's books, illustrating and painting full time.

I currently live with my husband, also an artist, in northern California along with our cat, Sammy and our dog, Bailey.
